Stainless steel seamless pipe is a long steel material with a hollow cross-section and no seams around it. 

The thicker the wall thickness of the product, the more economical and practical it is. The thinner the wall thickness, the greater the processing cost.

 

The difference of 304 ss welded pipe and ss seamless pipe

 

304 stainless steel welded pipe is a stainless steel pipe welded by stainless steel strips after being rolled and formed by a unit and a mold. Stainless steel seamless pipes are made by perforating round tube blanks and are produced by cold rolling, cold drawing or hot extrusion.

 

With the advancement of production technology, the improvement of weld quality, and the diversity of varieties and specifications, 304 stainless steel welded pipes have replaced stainless steel seamless pipes in more and more places.

 

1. To put it simply, you can see the literal meaning of the two. The difference is that stainless steel seamless pipes have no welding spots. 

 

2. The production accuracy of stainless steel seamless pipes is not high, the pipe wall thickness is uneven, the brightness of the inner and outer walls of the pipe is low, and the cost of customizing to length is high. It can also support customization according to customer needs and save material costs.

 

3. Because seamless pipes have no solder joints, they are better than welded pipes in terms of corrosion resistance and high pressure resistance. This is why seamless pipes usually have thicker walls, and thin-walled seamless pipes have low practicality and relatively high processing costs. Welded pipes do not have this limitation and can be made into thin-walled pipes. As welding technology improves, its performance is gradually approaching that of seamless pipes.

 

4. The difference in the manufacturing process between welded pipes and seamless pipes also determines the price difference between the two. The relatively complicated manufacturing process of seamless pipes makes it more expensive than welded pipes. Taking the procurement cost into consideration, welded pipes are also a preferred choice.

 

5. Combined with the characteristics of seamless pipes, it is mainly used in high-pressure, high-strength, mechanical structural materials, such as power stations, industrial projects and large equipment transportation pipelines. Welded pipes can be used as decorative pipes, product pipes, prop pipes or lower pressure transportation pipes.
