Various Methods for Anti-corrosion of ERW Steel Pipes

With the development of industry, ERW steel pipe, as a commonly used building material, is widely used in various fields. However, ERW steel pipes are susceptible to corrosion from a variety of factors, including water, pollution, oxidation, etc. These factors will cause corrosion of steel pipes. In order to prevent ERW steel pipes from corrosion and extend their service life, it is necessary to carry out anti-corrosion treatment. 1. Spray anti-corrosion

Spray anti-corrosion is a common method of anti-corrosion for steel pipes. This method uses a spray machine as a tool to apply anti-corrosion paint on the surface of ERW steel pipes. Spray anti-corrosion is suitable for anti-corrosion treatment of small pipes and parts, and is relatively economical and affordable. However, for large pipelines, spraying is more difficult and the effect is unsatisfactory.

2. Hot-dip galvanizing for anti-corrosion
Hot-dip galvanizing is a common anti-corrosion method on the market, and it is also a relatively effective method. This method is to heat the hot-rolled steel pipe to a certain temperature and then immerse it in the molten zinc liquid, so that the zinc liquid adheres to the surface of the steel pipe to form a zinc layer. The zinc layer can prevent the steel pipe from being corroded by air oxidation and moisture, effectively extending the service life of the ERW steel pipe.

3. 3PE anti-corrosion
The 3PE anti-corrosion method is a method that uses a three-layer structure anti-corrosion coating. The first layer is epoxy powder coating, the second layer is glue layer, and the third layer is polyethylene powder coating. This anti-corrosion method can provide better anti-corrosion effects for some special uses, such as in marine environments.

4. 2PE anti-corrosion
2PE anti-corrosion is similar to 3PE, but only two layers are applied, that is, the first layer is epoxy powder coating, and the second layer is polyethylene coating. This anti-corrosion method is suitable for steel pipes with small diameters and relatively mild external environments.

5. Smooth surface treatment of steel pipe
Steel pipe smoothing, also called steel pipe polishing, uses mechanical processing to make the surface of the steel pipe smoother and smoother. This treatment method can improve the hardness and corrosion resistance of the ERW steel pipe surface, thereby achieving the anti-corrosion effect. However, this method is relatively expensive and is only suitable for chemical media that do not require high concentration.
