What is ERW structural pipe?

ERW structural pipe is the abbreviation of electric resistance welded steel pipe. The pipe is made of steel coils with welds running parallel to the pipe. It is one of the most versatile tools in agricultural, industrial and construction activities. The manufacturing process of ERW steel pipes includes HFW. ERW welding includes low frequency welding, medium frequency welding and high frequency welding. It is a kind of pipeline widely used in oil, natural gas, coal gas, machinery, construction, aviation, electric power and other industries.

Features of ERW structural pipe

ERW structural pipe is made from a single piece of metal with no seams on the surface. Using the filler-free metal pressure welding method, no other components are filled in the weld. The skin effect and proximity effect of high-frequency current cause the edge of the plate to be instantly heated to the welding temperature, and then extruded by the extrusion roller to form a weld. High-quality steel pipes require heat treatment of the welds to refine the structure of the weld area.

The outer diameter of ERW structural pipe is 21.3mm-610mm, and the wall thickness is 1mm-22mm. Furthermore, its length varies from 0.5 to 20 meters. You can choose from three types of terminals, so it's more versatile.

Standard: ASTM A53/A53M, ASTM A252, EN10219-1, AS/NZS 1163, AS/NZS 1074, ASTM A500.
