Difference Between Oil Pipe and Oil Layer Casing

Date:2020-04-10    keywords:oil pipe,casing
Tubing and casing are both indispensable in oil exploration.
Tubing is a pipe that runs into the casing of an oil well during normal production of the oil well. In the spout well, the oil flow flows into the surface through the tubing and enters the gathering and transportation process. In the mechanical production well, the tubing, sucker rod, and deep well pump (that is, "three pumping" equipment) are combined to pump oil to the surface and enter the gathering and transportation process.

The casing is a pipe that goes downhole after drilling, the casing pipe and the wall of the well are sealed with cement, and then a perforating gun is used to perforate the target layer to make the oil flow through the rock formation, cement ring, and casing into the well Bottom, then enter the oil pipe to the ground.

The main functions are:
1. Reinforce the well wall to prevent stratum collapse;
2. Isolate different oil layers and water layers to realize layered mining;
3. Facilitate the implementation of fracturing, acidification and other measures and maintenance operations.
4. Form an oil flow channel and cooperate with the oil pipe to achieve the purpose of oil recovery.
The sequence is: after the oil well is laid, the casing is run, the casing and the wall of the well are sealed with cement, and the oil pipe is run into the casing. There are downhole tools such as oil packer and pump on the tubing, and the sucker rod is inserted into the tubing, and the sucker rod pulls the piston of the pump.
