Seamless Steel Tube Process Performance Inspection

Date:2021-11-30    keywords:seamless steel tube, pipe inspection
The process performance of seamless steel tubes (smls tube) can be inspected through four aspects: hydraulic (water) pressure test, flattening test, bending test, and flaring test, to test the suitability of the steel pipe's own quality in the subsequent processing and manufacturing process. Commonly used process performance tests include water pressure, flattening, bending, and flaring tests. Let me share these knowledge points with you.

(1) Hydrostatic test: pour a certain pressure of water into the tested steel tube and maintain the pressure for a certain period of time (the test pressure value and the voltage stabilization time are in accordance with the standard), and there is no leakage. This test is a non-destructive inspection, which is often used to inspect all products.

(2) Flattening test: Put the steel pipe sample between the two flat clamps, apply force between the clamps until the distance reaches the specified value of the standard, and check that there are no cracks, cracks and other defects in the deformation area of the sample.

(3) Bending test: Put the steel pipe sample on the bending test machine and bend it to the angle required by the standard according to the bending core radius specified by the standard. There is no crack or crack on the surface of the bending position.

(4) Flaring test: Place the steel pipe sample on the worktable with the opening upward, and press the top center selected according to the standard taper into the steel pipe until the flaring rate of the outer diameter of the test reaches the standard, and there is no crack on the surface of the sample. Or defects such as cracks.
