What Material is Good for the Water Pipeline?

Date:2019-05-09    keywords:
The selection and installation of water pipelines in pipeline engineering has become a problem that cannot be ignored in the renovation. In order to make the living room beautiful, people often use buried wall construction when water pipes are used for decoration. However, once the water pipeline leaks and bursts, it will cause great difficulties for maintenance.

The reasons for this may come from the following aspects:

First, the plastic tube used is not a qualified product. There are some products with poor quality and unqualified quality in the market. For example, the pressure resistance, the coefficient of thermal expansion and expansion cannot meet the technical requirements, and if the construction is not standardized, there will be problems in the project.

Second, the physical and chemical properties of the plastic tube itself are determined. Because the plastic tube is connected by metal at the bend, the plastic tube is not welded with the metal or the screw, but is bonded by a special glue. In the case of a large temperature difference, such as a sudden drop in temperature, the coefficient of thermal expansion between the plastic and the metal is different, and the glue is easily broken, thereby causing the water pipe to burst.

Third, the aging problem of plastic water pipelines. Because plastics contain plasticizers, they will evaporate over time and cause hardening and embrittlement of plastics. Sunlight will also accelerate the aging of plastics, and ozone in the atmosphere will also damage plastics. The aged plastic pipe is prone to burst under the shock of water pressure and the action of water hammer.

Relevant surveys show that there are mainly galvanized steel pipes, PAP (aluminum-plastic composite pipe), PPR (polypropylene ester composite pipe), UPVC (polyvinyl chloride composite pipe) in the current market, and some quality and performance are better. Copper water pipes and plastic-lined thin-walled stainless steel pipes. Since the galvanized steel pipe is not resistant to corrosion and non-antibacterial, the inner wall is poor in scale resistance. After long-term contact between the water and the inner wall of the pipe, it is easily rusted into the water, causing direct pollution of drinking water. At the same time, because it is a threaded connection, it is easy to loosen for a long time, and water leakage occurs. Therefore, the country has banned the use of cold-galvanized steel pipes in 2000, and hot-dip galvanized steel pipes are also used within a limited time.

According to statistics, in some developed countries and regions, copper water supply heating systems account for a large proportion, with the United States accounting for 81%, Canada accounting for 85%, Australia accounting for 85%, Britain accounting for 95%, Hong Kong accounting for 70%, Singapore accounting for 67%. In recent years, copper pipes have also begun to attract people's attention in China. In the past, only copper pipes were used in star-rated hotels and high-end office buildings, and the use of copper pipes in houses has become popular.

Copper water pipelines have excellent performance not found in other water pipelines, such as hygienic properties, copper can inhibit the growth of bacteria, 99% of bacteria disappear after 5 hours into the copper pipeline, ensuring drinking water It is hygienic, durable and safe, and requires no maintenance for life. However, the price of copper pipelines will be slightly higher.
