Heat Treatment of 304 Stainless Steel Pipe

We all know that 304 stainless steel pipe for pressure pipe components, for the production of relatively high demand, the general cold forming temperatures are not up to the production requirements, so the need for 304 stainless steel pipe heat treatment process, the industry collectively referred to as solution treatment. To achieve the heat treatment process is divided into the following steps:

1.304 stainless steel heat treatment - annealing
The stainless steel tube heated to a certain temperature and heat for a period of time, and then make it slowly cooling, called annealing. Steel annealing is the steel heated to a phase change or partial phase transition temperature, after cooling slowly cooling after the heat treatment method.

2.304 stainless steel heat treatment - normalizing
Normalizing is the heating of stainless steel to a critical temperature above, so that all stainless steel into uniform austenite, and then naturally cooled in air heat treatment. It can eliminate the eutectoid steel mesh cementite, for normalizing sub-eutectoid steel can refine the lattice, improve the comprehensive mechanical properties.

3.304 stainless steel heat treatment - quenching
Quenching stainless steel is heated to above the critical temperature, heat for a period of time, and then quickly into the quenching agent, so that the temperature suddenly decreased to greater than the critical cooling rate of rapid cooling, and get martensite-based imbalance tissue heat treatment methods.

4.304 stainless steel heat treatment - tempering
Quenched stainless steel reheated to a certain temperature, and then use a certain method of cooling called tempering. Its purpose is to eliminate the internal stress generated by quenching, reduce the hardness and brittleness, in order to achieve the desired mechanical properties.

5.304 stainless steel heat treatment - chemical heat treatment
The 304 stainless steel tube placed in a container containing a specific medium, heated to an appropriate temperature after the insulation, so that the container medium (penetration agent) decomposition or ionization, generated by the elements can penetrate into the active atoms or ions in the insulation process adsorbed by the surface of the workpiece and diffused into the interior of the workpiece to change the chemical composition of the workpiece surface. 304 stainless steel pipe to improve wear resistance, friction reduction, corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidation and fatigue resistance.
